Start and Finish Information:

Due to campus construction, this year the ride starts on the east side of campus near the corner of Bateman and Wayne streets (late registration and the Information Desk remain in Maggs Center). The ride finishes on the campus Mall on the western side of Henson Science Hall. Look for a detailed map in the registration packet. Please follow posted directions and proceed with caution near construction areas. It is a “show and go” start, meaning you do not have to check-in. You may start as early as 7 a.m., but please not later than 9 a.m. You are free to ride at your own pace, but we do request that you return by 6 p.m. when route services end. Riders should be off the roads by sunset.

Safety Rules and Guidelines:

Obey all traffic laws, including Maryland bicycle laws and Sea Gull Century rules. All riders are reminded that helmets are required. More comprehensive safety guidelines are provided in the registration packet.

First Aid/Emergency Needs:

First aid is available in mobile units along the route and at rest stops. These units have access to local emergency services. Also, it is a good idea to carry your cellular phone in a waterproof cover.

Repair Vehicles:

Salisbury Cycle, Bethany Cycle, Oasis Bike, Race Pace and others provide ride support. Look for their vans at the rest stops if you need help with repairs.

Swimming Pool/Showers:

The swimming pool and showers in Maggs Center are available for the use of all participants from noon-6 p.m. after the ride on Saturday. Towels are not provided.

Photo Service:

Marathon Photo is contracted to provide photos of all riders. Using rider information provided by the Sea Gull Century Staff, Marathon e-mails a photo proof to each participant. Riders without e-mail may contact Marathon at 1-800-247-3435 following the ride to view proofs.

Massage:

Cost is $15 for a 15-20 minute massage from noon-6 p.m. on Saturday. Look for signs directing you to the massage area as the location has not been identified as of press time. Please sign up as soon as you return from the ride. Sorry, no advance reservations are possible. Massage therapists are certified sports massage therapists.
